ProspectIP services
ProspectIP is an innovation, research commercialisation and intellectual property management company based in Leicester. We offer a comprehensive range of services for universities and research-intensive organisations.
Additional services
Through our sister companies, ProspectIP Advisory and ProspectIP Africa, we also provide specialist intellectual property and innovation management services to businesses in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Research Commercialisation: STEM
ProspectIP helps universities to commercialise their STEM-based research. We have worked with more than 20 higher education institutions in the UK and overseas to successfully commercialise their research.
As well as evidencing the impact and societal benefit of research activities, our STEM commercialisation can help you identify, evaluate, protect, develop and commercialise your research.
Research Commercialisation: non-STEM
While the commercialisation pipeline for STEM research is well-established, research within the non-STEM disciplines such as social sciences and humanities are often ignored in the context of knowledge exchange or commercialisation.
ProspectIP has a clear specialism in helping universities and higher education institutions to both commercialise their non-STEM research and identify the impact and societal benefit of their output.
IP Management and Development
Intellectual property is a valuable asset. Knowing what IP you have, how valuable it is and how best to further develop it, provides significant competitive and financial benefits. For many organisations however it can be a challenge to manage, protect and develop their IP.
ProspectIP offers specialist expertise to help universities and research intensive organisations make the most of their valuable intellectual assets and research activities.
Research Excellence Framework Service
Impact is of increasing importance to funders, in particular UKRI and Research England. Since 2007, RCUK (now UKRI) has required university researchers to describe the potential impact from the research and what will be done to enhance the likelihood of it being realised.
ProspectIP works with a number of universities, helping them to turn their research output into impact case studies for REF 2021.
Knowledge Exchange Framework Service
The Knowledge Exchange Framework was proposed by the UK Government in October 2017. KEF will give more information on university performance in knowledge exchange: how they share knowledge, expertise and other assets for economic and societal benefit.
ProspectIP can support you through KEF and help you identify and develop the research outputs that enhance your HEBCIS return.
Intellectual Property Training with Impact
ProspectIP has a range of training courses and content to help universities and research intensive organisations boost intellectual property awareness.
From understanding what IP is, through to the methods to protect and commercialise it, our training content allows organisations to rapidly and cost-effectively raise IP awareness level among both researchers and employees.
